Urban mobility truly evolves when it becomes simple, accessible and tailored to people’s everyday needs. This is the idea behind Pikyrent’s new project in Segrate: a station-based electric car-sharing service<\/strong> designed to offer residents, commuters and visitors a practical, more sustainable alternative to private car ownership, while promoting a more organised use of urban space.<\/p>\n

In partnership with the City of Segrate<\/strong>, Pikyrent is introducing Fiat Topolino electric microcars<\/strong> to the area. Agile, compact and perfectly suited to urban and short-distance travel, these vehicles represent another step forward in the development of shared mobility.<\/p>\n

The initiative brings a new mobility model to the Milan metropolitan area, designed to complement local public transport and provide convenient connections to the city’s main destinations and points of interest.<\/p>\n

A Service Designed to Make Everyday Travel Easier<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Launched as a sustainable mobility pilot project, the initiative initially includes four dedicated hubs<\/strong>, strategically located across Segrate.<\/p>\n

At these hubs, users can find, pick up and return Fiat Topolino vehicles, supporting more efficient fleet management and a more organised use of public space.<\/p>\n

The station-based model<\/strong> makes the service straightforward and convenient: users simply select a vehicle through the Pikyrent app, head to the nearest hub, start their rental and drive away.<\/p>\n

At the end of the rental, the microcar must be returned to one of the designated Pikyrent hubs in Segrate.<\/p>\n

During the rental, however, users are free to travel both within Segrate and beyond the operating area, including Milan<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

If needed, they can activate the \u201cParking\u201d feature<\/strong> to temporarily park the vehicle and resume their journey later.<\/p>\n

Four Hubs to Better Connect the City<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The four hubs selected for the pilot project have been strategically positioned to facilitate connections to railway stations, transport interchanges, residential neighbourhoods and business areas.<\/p>\n

    After downloading the app from the App Store or Google Play and completing registration, users can view available microcars on the map, book a vehicle, reach the designated hub and start their rental directly from their smartphone.<\/p>\n

    The app provides a seamless mobility experience, managing every step of the journey: from finding and booking a vehicle to unlocking it and ending the rental.<\/p>\n
