Sustainable mobility only works if it is widespread, accessible and easy to use. That is why we decided to take an important step: integrating Pikyrent into Wetaxi<\/strong>, one of Italy’s leading MaaS operators. It is also a milestone: Pikyrent is the first scooter sharing operator to be available on Wetaxi.<\/p>\n

Mobility as a Service <\/strong>(MaaS) platforms combine public transport, shared mobility and private services in a single app, allowing users to plan, book and pay for all their journeys with ease, without barriers or complications. From this perspective, integrating our fleets and sharing services into a MaaS ecosystem is not just a technological choice: it is a key strategy for the growth of shared mobility<\/strong>. Shared mobility, in fact, does not grow simply by increasing the number of available vehicles; what is increasingly needed is a network that makes the service visible, easy to use and an integral part of people’s daily journeys<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

When users plan a trip through a MaaS app, they can quickly compare all the available options and choose the most efficient, affordable and sustainable way to travel. This has a concrete effect: people are more likely to choose a shared scooter or car instead of a private car<\/strong>. In other words, working with a MaaS operator means expanding demand<\/strong>, making shared mobility accessible to a much wider audience and moving beyond the niche, often associated with digital-savvy young people or users already familiar with the service.<\/p>\n

For us, this collaboration means offering more options to more users, but above all<\/strong> helping to build a smarter, more cooperative urban system<\/strong>, where every player \u2014 public or private \u2014 works together to reduce traffic, emissions and environmental impact<\/strong>, improving the quality of life in our cities.<\/p>\n

We chose Wetaxi because it is one of the few MaaS operators active in all the cities where we operate <\/strong>\u2013 Bari, Turin and Milan<\/strong> \u2013 giving us extensive coverage <\/strong>to help shared mobility grow. But our choice goes beyond geographical presence. With Wetaxi we share the same vision<\/strong>: making urban mobility public, accessible, complementary to local public transport (LPT) and sustainable<\/strong>, offering practical solutions for anyone who wants to get around the city in a smart, affordable and responsible way<\/strong>. Wetaxi brings together taxis, car sharing, bike sharing and private services in a single ecosystem, simplifying the travel experience and helping citizens make more sustainable choices with a single click.<\/p>\n

Thanks to integration with MaaS platforms, shared mobility is moving beyond the boundaries of a niche phenomenon. It is no longer a service aimed only at a young, digital, medium-to-high-income audience, but becomes cross-cutting, inclusive and within everyone’s reach. Integrating with Wetaxi allows us to bring our vehicles into people’s daily journeys, making it simpler and more natural to choose a shared solution over a private car.
