What type of license is required to rent a Piky Car?
Where is parking prohibited?
- In dangerous spots or places that obstruct traffic: intersections, traffic lights, double parking
- In private areas or no-parking zones: garages, courtyards, restricted areas
- In spaces reserved for:
- people with disabilities
- access ramps
- pedestrian crossings
- cycle lanes
- On sidewalks, even partially
- In front of hospitals, police stations, schools, or public buildings
- In areas without GPS coverage where the app cannot detect the position
- Anywhere forbidden by the Highway Code or local regulations

What can I transport with the Piky Cargo?
The Piky Cargo is designed for urban transport of light items and equipment. It’s ideal for carrying:
- small packages or parcels
- grocery bags
- travel trolleys or duffel bags
- work cases or toolboxes
- small to medium-sized equipment
It’s the perfect vehicle for professionals who need to transport tools or equipment across the city.
It’s also very convenient for those delivering goods on behalf of shops, supermarkets, or restaurants.
The cargo area can hold up to 140 kg.
The horizontal shelf covering the load area has a dedicated section for holding documents like delivery notes, order books, or tablets, and can support up to 40 kg.
There is also a closed and separate storage compartment, useful for safely storing items such as smartphones, glasses, or small tools. The compartment opens with a button.
How do I start the rental of a Pikyrent car?
Open the map in the Pikyrent app, locate the nearest available vehicle, and when you’re within 1 meter, press the “Start Rental” button.
If you are already next to a Pikyrent car, you can scan the QR code directly.
If the app shows “vehicle not available for rental,” it might be due to low battery, maintenance, or an existing reservation by another user.
Find another vehicle and repeat the procedure.
If the vehicle is available and the rental has started, follow these steps:
- close all doors
- with the brake pedal pressed, set the gear knob to N
- with the brake pedal still pressed, turn the ignition switch to start the engine
- a blinking green OK will appear on the display. Wait until it becomes steady
- with the brake still pressed, switch the gear knob to D
- start driving
- at the end of your ride, after parking, set the gear to N
- close the windows using the appropriate buttons (this cannot be done when the car is off)
- exit the vehicle, close the doors, and end the rental in the app
Where is the Pikyrent service available?
The service is available in Milan, Turin and Bari. In all cities it operates in a free-floating mode, and the blue area highlighted on the app’s map indicates the operational zone where you can start and end your rental.
How do I drive a Piky Car (Dacia Spring)?
Driving a Piky Car is easy: the operation is similar to an automatic transmission vehicle, but instead of a key you’ll find a rotary switch.
- Starting the rental
After starting the rental via the app, the central locking system will unlock.
You can then get inside, close the doors, and fasten your seatbelt (the car will not start unless the seatbelt is fastened). - Turning on the vehicle
Turn the rotary switch (where the ignition key would be) clockwise twice.
Set the gear selector to “N.” The selector varies depending on the model: you may find a knob to turn or a lever to push.
Then press and hold the brake pedal while turning the switch once more to simulate starting the engine.
If everything was done correctly, the green “READY” message will appear steadily on the display. - In case of error
If the “READY” message is flashing, it means something was done incorrectly. In this case:- release the brake pedal
- turn the switch counterclockwise to turn off the dashboard
- repeat the procedure from step
- Selecting the gear
While holding the brake pedal, use the gear selector to choose the driving mode:-
- D = drive
- R = reverse
- N = neutral

After selecting the gear, gently press the accelerator pedal to start driving. - Onboard features
Piky Cars are equipped with turn indicators, hazard lights, and a horn.
Important note
Being an electric vehicle, the Piky Car has a very quick take-off. We recommend pressing the accelerator gently, especially when starting from a stop.
Are security deposits required to start a rental?
No, you do not need to pay a security deposit like traditional car or scooter rentals.
However, upon registration, the app makes an initial €10 top-up, charged to the payment method provided (credit, debit, prepaid card, or PayPal).
For each rental, your in-app wallet must contain at least:
- €7 for a microcar or car
- €3 for a scooter
These amounts must be available before starting any rental, even if you have an active package or subscription.
How long does it take to activate my account?
After completing your registration, entering your license data (number, issuing authority, and expiration date), uploading the front and back photos of the license, a selfie with your license in hand, and adding a payment method, our team will verify the submitted documents.
If all data is correct and consistent, you’ll be approved immediately and can start renting Pikyrent vehicles right away.

Pikyrent activates dynamic promotions that reduce rental costs on selected vehicles in the fleet.
Look for the vehicles marked with the “SALE” label on the map and discover the discounted rate that applies when renting that specific vehicle.
Check the map frequently: offers change regularly and discounted vehicles disappear quickly!
