How do you drive a Piky Microcar or a Piky Cargo?

Driving a Piky Car or Piky Cargo is simple and intuitive: the operation is similar to an automatic transmission vehicle, but no key is needed.
Once the rental is started via the app, the headlights and dashboard will turn on automatically, and the doors will unlock. You can then get in and start driving.

The driving modes are selected using buttons located to the left of the driver’s seat, near the floor.

While pressing the brake pedal lightly, press the corresponding button:

  • D = drive
  • R = reverse
  • N = neutral

After selecting the gear, just press the accelerator to start driving.
All vehicles are equipped with turn signals, hazard lights, and an audible horn to ensure safe driving.

⚠️ Please note: like all electric vehicles, acceleration from a standstill is very responsive. We recommend using the accelerator gently, especially at the beginning of the ride.

How can I settle a debt and unlock my account?

To settle the outstanding balance and reactivate your account, top up your wallet with an amount equal to or greater than the debt.

The due amount will be automatically deducted from the recharge, and any extra will remain in your wallet for future rentals.

Please note: the debt may include penalties, which must also be covered by the recharge.
Once the debt is cleared, your account will be automatically unlocked.

How much does it cost to rent?

What happens if my wallet balance is insufficient at the end of a rental?

If your wallet does not have enough credit to cover the final rental cost, the app will automatically charge the remaining amount to the card (credit, debit, prepaid) provided during registration.

If the charge fails (e.g., insufficient balance on a prepaid card), the unpaid amount becomes a debt toward Pikyrent, visible in your profile.

You’ll need to settle the debt in order to rent again. Until then, your account will be temporarily suspended.

How can I rent vehicles for work travel?

You have two options:

  1. Register with a business profile (recommended for freelancers, for example): during sign-up, enter your VAT number and link a company credit card.
  2. Use a dual wallet: if you’re already registered as a private user with a personal card, you can add a second, business wallet linked to a business card.
    This allows you to choose which wallet to use for each trip — personal or professional (e.g., business meetings, work trips).

The invoice will be issued according to the profile or wallet used for the rental.

How can I pay for my rental?

When you register for the service, you’ll be asked to add a payment method from the following options:

  • Credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, UnionPay)
  • Prepaid card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, UnionPay)
  • PayPal

Once selected, you can top up your wallet directly from the app: rental charges will be deducted from it.
The first automatic top-up will be €10.

To start a rental, you must have a minimum wallet balance:

  • At least €3 for scooters
  • At least €7 for cars

If your balance is lower, the app will prompt you to recharge before you can start the trip.
